Awake! 05:35
I. Older than the mountains, Wilder than the sea, Brighter than the blazing dawn: This soul that has been given... To you... and me... It's you... and me. Wake up with an open heart again! II. It's not the end, we'll start again, don't try to fight it. You can't escape this bleeding heart, so don't deny it. The tears of joy, the sorrow's weight, they're here to teach you. Let fall away the pain and hate, they can't consume you. Wake up with an open heart again!

The Mariner 10:30
I. Once a mariner at sea, searching far from home, Sailing o'er the pathless waves, straying far from lands you'd known, You foundered in that night 'midst the shadowed isles. You yearned to see the light shine and kindle hope. In the depths of that despair came your blazing star, Bright enough to rout the gloom and banish shadows near and far. Together through that night to Undying Lands, Bearing Arda's ancient light and beauty, yet unmarred. II. Still a mariner at heart, now you sail the skies. In your ship of Faerie glass, you bear that radiance on high. Behind you in your wake waits a hope known well. Will you cease this endless search, or carry on, let the Fates decide? Seeking that unnamed, unknown purpose none can tell, Speaking of Immortal Ones who in the Timeless Halls yet dwell, Messages you long to bring with faith for all mankind. You set out to save the world, but can you save yourself? III. Restless Mariner, weary Wand'rer, save yourself... Restless Mariner, battered Seeker, save yourself... Restless Mariner, weary Wand'rer, save yourself... Restless Mariner, seek the Light and save yourself!
3.
I. We suffer greatly not to choose Over, over... Bound up so tightly in this old, old ruse Bearing on my shoulders The weight of a hope I dare never, never lose Over and over... My back is aching from this load My heart, the keystone of an arch spanning chasms vast and cold Bridges of silence can't sustain a vibrant open road Oh, but I can't find the words, no, I can't find the words Words to connect these vital nodes... II. I won't be painted black & white Over and over... The rainbow has always been the color of light Brighter and bolder... Filling the void, holding at bay the night Over and over... Don't bleed the color from this world Let reign the spectrum over absolute versions of the right Bridges of silence still remain, deafening our insight And oh, but I can find the words, sometimes I can find the words...

Son of Lot 09:10
I. "Generosity" You know what it is to be fed from spoons of silver, O! son of kings of ancient race – To break your fast on milk and honey And don fine silks with poise and grace – Yet your hand is ever free, and so may your heart always be. II. "Brotherly love" You know what it is to see brothers turn away, O! son of kin both false and true – To raise a glass in earnest toast And suffer ire of not a few – Yet your heart still beats and bleeds upon your sleeve for all to see. III. "Purity of heart" You know what it is to quaff the cup of wild delight, O! son of fruitful earthly vine – To drain the bitter dregs of sorrow And taste the bright and joyous wine – Yet your love stays evergreen and grows into a mighty tree. IV. "Chivalry" You know what it is to raise your sword in dire defiance, O! son of bold and shivered spears – Where e'er the Bear of Battles bids, You bear your bright shield 'gainst the fear – Yet your rough and reddened hands deny the rust another day. V. "Faith" You know what it is to look your demons in the eye, O! son of honest, hardy fools – To hear their dank and twisted whispers Accurse and sully every jewel – Yet, in the dark, your hope shines bright enough to burn away the mist. O! Son of Lot Bear yet your Endless knot Of gold O! Son of Lot Bear yet your Endless Knot, Endless Knot of gold!

Denouement 05:21
The moon mounted the mists of the sea, and quivering in the cold the keen starlight that wavered wan in the waiting East failed and faded; the foam upon the shore was glimmering ghostly on the grey shingle, and the roaring of the sea rose in darkness to the watchers on the wall. O! wondrous night when shining like the moon, with shrouds of pearl, with sails of samite, and the silver stars on her green banner embroidered white in glittering gems, that galleon was thrust on the shadowy seas under shades of night! The Mariner goeth on eager quest.

about

They brought him his blazon that was of brilliant gules
with the pentangle depicted in pure hue of gold.
By the baldric he caught it and about his neck cast it:
right well and worthily it went with the knight.
And why the pentangle is proper to that prince so noble
I intend now to tell you, though it may tarry my story.
It is a sign that Solomon once set on a time
to betoken Troth, as it is entitled to do;
for it is a figure that in it five points holdeth,
and each line overlaps and is linked with another,
and every way it is endless; and the English, I hear,
everywhere name it the Endless Knot.
So it suits well this knight and his unsullied arms;
for ever faithful in five points, and five times under each,
Gawain as good was acknowledged and as gold refinéd,
devoid of every vice and with virtues adorned.
So there
the pentangle painted new
he on shield and coat did wear,
as one of word most true
and knight of bearing fair.

about

Ouroboros Seattle, Washington

Ouroboros is the work of a singular man, multi-instrumentalist, and amateur student of history and esoteric philosophy. Sometimes folky, sometimes metal; sometimes classic, sometimes psychedelic; and, more often than not, cavalier in it's experimental approach - or, as some might say: foolhardy. Themes of cyclicality, spirituality, and humanity (in both it's noble and ignoble aspects) abound. ... more
