about

The Weight of Days is the tenth release by Ouroboros, as part of the RPM Challenge. What exactly is that, you ask? Essentially, the challenge is this: record an album (10 tracks and/or 35+ minutes) of original material exclusively in the month of February. (Yes, they chose the shortest month of the year on purpose.)

The Weight of Days explores multiple themes that seem especially poignant in these Plague Years of 2020-2021. Loss, regret, fear, anxiety & depression, and even - dare I say it? - a faint glimmer of hope that not all is lost. Musically, it runs the gamut from rock ballad to goth metal, touching on grunge, alt-rock, and even a bit of electronica along the way, and interwoven with classical piano interludes to tie it all together. To say much more would be to cheapen the listening experience, so please set aside some time, sit down, and enjoy.

Themes of cyclicality, spirituality, and humanity (in both it's noble and ignoble aspects) abound. ... more
